Sodick Europe

Once again Sodick Europe is bringing best-of-breed technology to EMO. This year, as well as market-leading EDM machines, our stand features automation, our pioneering UH650L milling machine and additive manufacturing.

But we can’t bring the whole range of Sodick machines, even to EMO. And we know that customers are looking for in-depth demonstrations and discussions on how to tackle particular technical challenges. Which is why, this year, we have opened Sodick Europe’s brand new HQ, supporting customers and agents across Europe.

The new Headquarters - a superb purpose-built facility in the UK’s Midlands manufacturing heartland - benefits from excellent transport links, making it easy to access by customers, prospects and agents alike. As the operational centre for sales service and market support there are already 50 staff employed on site, with plans to double that number within the next few years.

At 4200m2 the structure has been designed with expansion in mind and, on a 1.2 hectare site, there is additional space for further growth later. One of the key benefits of the new building is its large, temperature-controlled showroom, with plenty of space for demonstrations, as well as extensive training facilities, not only for customer sales but also for dealer service education – an area of increasing importance as products become ever more advanced.

In addition to Sodick’s range of EDM technology, the new building also showcases the company’s recently announced plastic injection moulding machines and its innovative new milling machine, both of which have specialist additional staff assigned to them on site. And, as if that were not enough, there is also a dedicated production area for the additive manufacturing/milling machining centre, the OPM250L.

Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony for the new building was Kenichi Furukawa, President of Sodick Co., Ltd. and son of EDM pioneer and Sodick founder, Toshihiko Furukawa. In addition to planting a traditional cherry tree in the Japanese garden, Mr Kenichi Furukawa also gave the keynote speech to over 170 guests, where he not only looked back over Sodick’ Europe’s spectacular growth, but also forward, emphasising his view of the increasing importance of Europe as a manufacturing centre of excellence and innovation in sectors such as automotive and aerospace.

So, we are looking forward to welcoming you onto our stand at EMO in September, but hope also to see you at our new HQ facility in Warwick sometime in the not too distant future.
